With the world economy just suffering from the worst economic recession since the Great Depression, many people are still feeling the effects of the crunch in their day-to-day lives. Millions of people are unemployed and have been laid off from their jobs. People nowadays look for any means just to make a few extra bucks just to be able to go by. Many companies have been filing Chapter 11s, especially financial institutions, leaving customers with no more money and more problems. It is really that hard to get by in these times but many people and companies are still thriving to provide hope and happiness in even the smallest of ways, to those people who are in need.
One person who has been fortunate enough to have warded off the negative effects of the financial recession is Naveen Jain. His company, Intelius Inc, has also been lucky. Despite the struggling economy, Jain’s company has continuously posted records of growth while providing high quality services to its customers. From a four million customer base in 2007, its market has now expanded to over 10 million unique paying customers in 2008.
With this success, Naveen Jain has made it his mission to continuously give back and extend help to the people who are in need. He knows for a fact that it is in times like these that those who are fortunate should be stepping up and doing their part in helping the community. In 2008, with many companies cutting back on costs and expenditures, especially on philanthropic giving, Jain had Intelius bring up its donations to charities even more. Instead of holding back, the company has opened itself even more to the community.
Naveen Jain has taken it as his personal responsibility to step up and extend help to those in need. He hopes that by his and his company’s example, others will soon follow suit.

Make sure your mail server is shielded properly to assure that every byte of passing data is filtered and blocked against spam. We all seem to know someone with the gift of gab. The just seem to naturally know how to make a conversation flow; even if it’s with someone they are just meeting for the first time.
Here are some tips on how to make conversation flow by concentrating on why we talk to each other in the first place.
1. The golden rule.
The reason we talk to other people is to connect, on a heart-to-heart level. If a conversation is steered only by your head, there is probably not going to be a flow to it.
Use the golden rule when you enter that room full of strangers. You want to feel noticed and understood. Start by noticing and understanding others!
2. Smile!
Have you noticed that person who walks into a room ’smiling at the world?’ When they do talk to someone their voices are warm and friendly. Smiling will make you look confident and relaxed, which makes people want to approach you.
Don’t be surprised if someone comes up to you and says: “Wow, you seem like a happy person! Can I sit with you, today?”
3. Are you listening?
By far, people who know how to make conversation flow know when to be the one who isn’t talking! How many times have you been on the phone and can tell that the person you are talking to is distracted with something else. For whatever reason - they are not really listening to you.
People who do a lot of networking have an underlying belief that everyone they meet is the most incredibly interesting person in the world. You can never find that out, unless you listen to what someone has to say.
Furthermore, if you are worried about what to talk about with someone, listening with your heart and not reacting with your head will never leave you without something to add to the conversation.
4. Remember past conversations.
Start up a conversation by remembering tidbits of any past talks you may have had. You remember this was the person that was trying to train their new pet dog.
You can start up a friendly conversation with: “So how’s Sam doing? Did you ever get him to rollover and play dead?” This demonstrates your interest in the other person and it is always appreciated.
5. Eye Contact.
Another key in learning how to make conversation flow is to remember to maintain eye contact with whomever you are talking to. You only have had to be on one bad date with someone who keeps looking around at all the other potential ‘dates’ in the room, while you are talking to them, to know that the person is just not that interested!
Learning how to make conversation flow sometimes takes practice, but it can lead to quality, heart-to-heart connections.

CB radios are the most prominent way that trucking companies keep in contact with their trucks on the road. Truckers depend on this way of communication not only for their livelihood, but also to pass the time on those lonely roads in the dead of night.
However, with CB radios come a few guidelines as well as warnings for usage. At one time, the airwaves were monitored diligently, but as more and more CB users, in trucks and passenger vehicles, hit the roads, that task became near to impossible. So, the Golden Rule applies somewhat to CB usage. You treat others on the airwaves as you would like to be treated.
Think before you speak. Wouldn’t everyone benefit from this advice? Seriously, truckers and trucking companies are not the only ones that use CB radios. Many people utilize the CB airwaves every day from police officers and peace keepers to the normal, average person. That means even children could be listening. So watch your words and avoid excessive or foul language. What you say is a reflection on not only you, but the trucking company you represent.
Don’t get taken for a ride. There are numerous people on the airwaves and some have a dozen sob stories to fit the conversation at hand. Others have a really “great deal” on some merchandise and would you be interested? Then there are those that want to meet you somewhere to “get to know you better.” Be careful of those situations, because more often than not, there is trouble. Use your common sense and don’t believe everything you hear.
Use the CB radio wisely. CB radios are useful tools for truckers, travelers and trucking companies. When you see an accident on the road, the CB can be used to alert the proper authorities in case someone needs medical attention. Truckers benefit from reported traffic problems by altering their route to avoid any delays. CB radios have also kept many truck drivers awake on the road too.
For the most part, you have to worry only about yourself when it comes to the CB radio - the Golden Rule and all that! Take it for what it is - a handy tool that is needed for you to carry on with your job. Remember too that you represent your trucking company out there on the road, so be cognizant of that every time you use the CB radio.

I’ve probably never met you, but I bet I can tell you two things about yourself. I know you love to save money and I know your business loves to save money.
To a business, money is like food; enabling it to grow and mature. You want to make sure you keep feeding your business while opening up new sources of revenue and sealing off points where you’re bleeding and losing money. That’s exactly what this article is intended to do; find a couple of points where you may be losing money and sealing them off.
In case you didn’t know, Motorola’s product depth is incredible. While their reputation is and always will be as the leading manufacturer of two-way radios, you’re doing your company a complete injustice by not researching their other business products.
It’s unfortunate that most people have never heard of Canopy or Motobridge, but don’t worry; it’s not your fault. I’ll take the blame on this one. In fact, I’ll take the blame for all the world’s two-way radio salesman not educating your company on all that Motorola has to offer.
So, now that I’m going about fixing everything by doing my job and educating you, the ball is in your court to apply what we have to offer. Now, let’s see how you can improve your business or organization and find ways to save money while increasing your efficiency, score!
Motorola Canopy:
Trying to connect your internet to a remote location? Thinking about all the work involved with it? Someone has to run the wires, at your expense of course. Then, someone else takes ownership of those lines, and sends you the bill every month. If this sounds like an issue in your business, we’ve just identified a bleeding point and need to seal this off fast. So, how can we?
Canopy enables you to extend your network wirelessly to remote locations. The connection is secure, reliable, and easy to set up. What used to take days can now be done in a few hours. Best of all, once you purchase Canopy, you own your system link. This means you can get rid of expensive monthly charges. For this reason, Canopy typically pays for itself in about a year.
There’s so much you can do with this platform, I’d run out of space before I got done telling you. However, based on the few things I’ve mentioned, you can probably use your imagination to see the other problems Canopy can solve. Luckily, I have a link to additional information about Canopy. There are plenty of Account Representatives like myself out there standing by, waiting to assist you if you have any questions.
For more information, visit: http://motorola.canopywireless.com/
Motobridge:
If you’re in Public Safety, you probably know what the P25 standard is. In case you’re not in Public Safety, I’ll quickly bring you up to speed. Basically, P25 stands for Project 25 and is a suite of standards used by local, state, and federal public safety agencies. It requires that all police, fire, and EMS communications equipment be interoperable so that they can coordinate in an emergency situation.
Unfortunately, it can be expensive to upgrade all of your equipment, and is generally budgeted for over time. I have two bits of good news to share with you concerning this. One, if you’re a firefighter, the government does provide assistance in the Fire Grant Support Act. If you’d like to learn more about this, contact me or another authorized Motorola Representative and we can help out your department.
The other piece of good news concerns Motorola. Motorola sums up Motobridge best with this description:
“MOTOBRIDGE eliminates communication barriers by connecting incompatible voice communications systems instantly. The bridges between systems are standing by 24/7, ready to be activated the moment they are needed so communication is immediate and seamless.
…Now you have a new and cost-effective option for quickly establishing communications between disparate systems in support of emergency response, day-to-day operations, and compliance with Homeland Security grant requirements. With MOTOBRIDGE Interoperable Solution you can achieve interoperability now.”
If you’re worried about the expense and challenge of interoperability, this is definitely an item you’ll want to look into.
Additional information can be found at: http://www.motorola.com/governmentandenterprise/northamerica/en-us/public/functions/browseproduct/productdetailpage.aspx?navigationpath=id_804i/id_2553i
Look how long this article has become and I’ve only discussed two items. However, both of these are powerful pieces of equipment and have proven to be invaluable to some businesses and organizations. We even use Canopy here at our shop and believe it or not, you can make additional income with it as well.
I’m sure you have a million questions and you’re ready to tear into the links I’ve provided for you, so I will end this article here for now. In the meantime Mr. or Mrs. Business…keep eating!
