Mobile Broadband Gaining Strong Worldwide Acceptance in Corporate Circles
Refuting all criticisms of the press relating to for mobile broadband, a survey report from the GSM Association has indicated the technology’s rising popularity among big business houses across the world. The report showed that worldwide mobile technology budgets are going to be twice in the coming years. Mobile broadband will be immensely benefited by this development, alongside Wi-Fi and other wireless mobile broadband access technologies.
With results from 1,000 companies across the Asia Pacific, America and Europe, the survey showed that 12.3 per cent of a company’s staff is provided with mobile broadband, and over 70 per cent of the companies provide VPN access, laptops and other remote technologies to their staff.
The CMO of GSMA, Michael O’Hara, stated that the results clearly show that enterprises have accepted the myriad advantages of HSPA Mobile Broadband and they are keen to promote such services among their workforce.
While mobility has become almost synonymous with business operations in recent times, many corporate bosses are still reserving their tech expenditure for their own use. The results indicate that the companies allowing their sales representatives to use mobile broadband is less than 40 per cent, and around 60 per cent of the companies reserve the technology for their directors and managers.
Globally, more than 800 mobile operators are members of the GSMA, which act as representatives for the global mobile communications industry.
