Chances are you are pursuing an online degree to reap benefits in the workplace. For this reason, you may be interested in accelerating your progress to get your degree faster. This article will explain seven ways to finish your degree faster. Keep in mind that you will work harder to finish faster and must be willing to make this commitment.
Check with an admissions counselor to see if you qualify for the Credit for Life Experience Program (CLEP). Experience in the business world can translate into college credits with this program. You will have to show documentation of your work experience. The school will verify this experience to determine how it fits into your degree program in terms of college credit. The credits you receive from this program can shorten the time you spend earning your degree. This program isn’t offered at all schools or for all degree programs.
The Proficiency Exam Program (PEP) is similar to CLEP. This program allows students to earn college credit for independent study or other training received without college credit. You may have learned the subject matter in another forum and not need to take the class. You will have to show documentation and pass an exam to qualify for credits with PEP.
Many online universities offer shorter semesters. Some will give you the choice between six, eight and ten week semesters. Shorter semesters allow you to take more classes throughout the year. Keep in mind that these shorter semesters still carry the same requirements. The work load will be more intense, but the time period will be shorter. Be sure you have the time to devote before you choose shorter semesters. The pace is faster and you will need to work faster to keep up.
You can take more classes each semester. Even taking one additional class each semester can take a year off the time you will spend in school. You will have to make time for an additional class each semester, but you’ll finish faster. When you plan your classes, schedule a mixture of subjects you find easy with more difficult courses. This way, you won’t end up with all the subjects you find difficult at the end of your program.
Some online universities don’t require students take general education classes. Your program will focus entirely on your field of study. Often, this structure results in a shorter time spent earning the degree. If you plan to transfer your credits to another university, check before enrolling in the program to make sure the credits are transferable.
Saturday Scholars Programs are offered at many large universities. Students entering this program should hold an Associates degree before applying to the program. You travel to the university on Saturdays, usually from eight in the morning until five in the evening. These programs allow you to finish your degree in two years of Saturdays.
Self paced programs are offered through some online colleges. These classes can be started at any time and finished at your own pace. You can work through the material more quickly than is possible in the typical college semester. Quite a few of these programs set a minimum time you must take the course. Usually they require a six week minimum time frame for completion.

There are many factors which need to be taken into consideration when choosing what type of flooring to get fitted. Getting new flooring installed in your home can breathe new life into it and can be a great way to improve your living environment. It may not be as expensive as you think either.
An important factor when choosing flooring is how that particular room will be used. Flooring which is suitable for the front room may not be appropriate for the bathroom for example. Some of the more widely used types of flooring are carpet, vinyl, wood, and laminate.
Laminate flooring can be a great alternative to solid wood floors if you are looking to achieve a wood effect floor for a fraction of the price. Laminate flooring consists of a sheet of MDF with a wood-effect plastic surface glued to it. The downside of laminate flooring is that whilst it is scratch resistant once it is scratched it is not possible to repair. That aside it can still be an ideal choice for a kitchen, where the plastic coating provides an easy to clean surface. Conversely solid wood flooring would not be appropriate in a bathroom, or indeed any room which is likely to get very humid and wet. Some woods are more vulnerable to the wet than others.
If you are looking to install a wooden floor, it’s important you have the right surface to fit it on. Ideally your existing floor needs to be flat, and dry. There are options however to resolve uneven flooring problems, such as laying ply throughout, or employing an underlay to create a ‘floating floor’.
More often than not laminate flooring is sold as a product you can fit together without help which is a great way of keeping costs to a minimum. Solid wood flooring requires however a higher degree of DIY skills, so it can sometimes be advisable to get solid wooden floors fitted professionally which on the downside can add substantially to the cost.
One point to remember many people do not realise when they measure their room to calculate how much flooring they will need - is that it is crucial to include a 10mm gap around the edge of the room for the wooden flooring to expand and contract.
As an integral part of any interior design scheme, it is crucial to choose the correct flooring. Whilst wooden or laminate floors can be ideal - often for a more chic minimalist look; carpet can be a better option if you are trying to achieve a more traditional home feel. The important thing is you take into account the various factors you need to consider before ordering new flooring.

I’m the sort of person that gets bored easily. I buy something, I think it’s great for a week, I’ll use it incessantly and then I’ll spot something new on the market that’s better and shinier and newer than mine. I’m like that with my laptop; I always want the latest and get really envious when I see the latest 3g mobile broadband offers or the latest deals offering free laptops. Imagine having the opportunity to upgrade your laptop on a regular basis.
Well, Fujitsu Siemens are offering just that; the opportunity to upgrade your laptop for free every three years. It sounds like the sort of offer someone as fickle as me can’t overlook. The new Laptop4Life promotion applies only to UK customers who purchase any Lifebook notebook between now and April 2009. The offer is the promise to replace customers’ laptops every three years with a brand new one, for free, as long as certain conditions are met and providing users register their new laptop within 21 days of purchase.
If Fujitsu Siemens want to give away their laptops like that, then who am I to complain, mind you I do have to pay an additional cost of £40 to upgrade the warranty to include 3 years cover; I might have to polish and shine my laptop every day as their laptop must be returned to Fujitsu Siemens in good condition to receive the free laptop replacement. Oh, and if like me you’re in the habit of losing receipts, best not with this one; you must still have the original receipt after three years to claim their new laptop.

Speak Up for Yourself
Create and Communicate Boundaries
Do you have internal rules about how you expect the people in your life to treat you? Are you comfortable speaking up for yourself when someone crosses one of those lines? Are you able to say no when you don’t want to participate in something you’ve been asked to consider?
Your ability to speak up for yourself, and to say no are directly related to your ability to set boundaries. In this lesson, I’d like to explore what a boundary is, and identify where you may need to set and enforce boundaries in your life.
Boundaries
A boundary is a limit, or a behavioral line which cannot be crossed. The manner in which you allow others to interact with you is governed by the interpersonal boundaries you’ve defined in your life, and your enforcement of these boundaries is the primary way you protect your emotional self.
When I work with someone to establish a personal system of boundaries we focus on three areas of behavior. They include; the manner in which you are spoken to, the requests that are made of you, and the physical space surrounding you. Let’s take a look at each of these areas.
Word Boundaries
The manner in which another individual speaks to you is reflective of both the level of respect that person has for you, and the standard of behavior the person holds themselves to. While you cannot impact the standards of another person, you can require a standard of communication for their interaction with you.
I’ll use my own boundaries as an example in this area. I will not allow another person to raise their voice when speaking to me, to speak sarcastically or caustically to me, or to direct mean spirited teasing at me. I have clearly defined my parameters for acceptable behavior in this area, and I am willing to enforce them when necessary.
Requirement Boundaries
Requirement boundaries are applicable to the expectations that another person has about how you will allocate and invest your resources. When another individual makes a request of you which you’d prefer to decline, you’re in your requirement boundary zone.
I’m not suggesting that you shouldn’t support the people in your life. I am suggesting that in the event that you’d rather not participate in something, and you find yourself doing so out of a sense of obligation, you’re not being true to yourself It is in these instances that you may want to consider establishing clear boundaries.
Physical Boundaries
Have you ever had a conversation with an individual who continually moved into your space? Have you known a person who repetitively touched you as you spoke with them? These people lacked an understanding of physical boundaries.
A physical boundary supports your ability to create and maintain an acceptable level of space around you. Your boundaries in this area will govern how close someone may stand to you, and the physical manner in which they may interact with you.
Define Your Boundaries
You show people how to treat you every time you interact with them. If you allow someone to tell a joke at your expense, laughing on the outside while wincing on the inside, you’re teaching them they can bully you. If you allow your mate or children to leave their personal items all over the house, cleaning up after them as you move through your home, you’re teaching them you’ll clean up after them.
Take a few moments to decide how you’ll require others to treat you. As you do so, stay focused on the respect, appreciation, and consideration you know you deserve.
Enforce Your Boundaries
The successful enforcement of interpersonal boundaries requires clear communication. The five part model outlined below is used quite regularly in the coaching industry, and will support you as you embrace your own process. Inform - Clearly describe the problem. Define The Unacceptable -Let the other party now what about their behavior was not acceptable. Share Your Emotions - Let the other person know how the situation made you feel. Request The Solution You Seek - Ask the other person for the solution you seek. Let Them Know Their Alternatives - Let the other person know what you plan to do if they won’t comply with your request.
The process of setting and enforcing boundaries is not an easy one, but it will be well worth your effort. Your ability to maintain space in your life - physically, emotionally, and mentally - will directly contribute to your developmental success. Your inability to do so will seriously detract from the growth you could experience.

Having your house appraised can be a scary step in the moving process, especially if you don’t know what to expect. Will your house pass muster or will they find some hidden defects and problems lurking in the basement and attic? Should you scrub the house clean?
Don’t worry - this isn’t a test of how clean you keep your house or even if your house has problems (that will be for the home inspector to find out). The appraiser is there to determine a fair market value for your home. Whether you are selling the house or refinancing, this is a common part of the process and the inspector is quite used to traipsing about peoples homes in all kinds of disarray so you need not be embarrassed if your house is messy and it will not affect the value the appraiser puts on the property.
Determining the market value of your home is necessary so that your lender knows the home is valued at or above the amount of money you are borrowing. An appraisal is an estimate of worth. It is an opinion but is not entirely a subjective process. The FNMA, Federal National Mortgage Association sets up the guidelines and assigns values to certain assets of your home to ensure a fair sale.
The value of your home will be determined by comparing it to similar area properties that have sold in the past few months. The appraiser looks for properties that have the same number of bedrooms, baths, square footage and amenities like a fireplace or garage in your neighborhood or town. They start by looking at your neighborhood to find comparable sales or properties in similar neighborhoods that share similar characteristics of lifestyles, income level of residents, surroundings, average age and home values. A valid appraisal can be done when 3 or more properties similar to your own have been found.
Once the appraiser has these homes, there will be some adjustments made to take into consideration features that your home has the others don’t or features they have that you don’t. These features have nothing to do with your décor - they are based solely on house size, rooms and amenities so your hot pink kitchen will not affect the value of your home appraisal!
The process is quite methodical and done to standard practices so you need not worry. If you are moving and you have hired a realtor, you will find the appraisal will come in right on the button for what they have valued your home at. Most realtors know the market quite well so you needn’t worry that your buyer won’t be able to secure funding because of your home appraisal.

Brouhaha is riding in the wake of the privatization, because yesterday the Sejm decided that it would encompass only people who carried Polish citizenship in December 1999. And what about the rest? What about the former Polish citizens of Jewish origin?
The trouble will result, because President Kwasniewski heroically will veto the decision, of course if, as it was the case before, his legs won’t hurt too much.
There will be lawsuits that will paralyze the already struggling Polish legal system - and imagine the gigantic costs to the state.

How to choose one that is truly good quality? Price isn’t always a good indicator. Here are a few tips to help you when shopping for men’s ties:
BIAS CUT
You want a tie that has the fabric cut on the bias. This helps ensure that the tie falls straight rather than twisting or falling at an angle.
To test a bias cut, try this: take the necktie and make a tie knot. Drape it over your hand (make sure the knot lies on top). If the tie falls straight and not off center, the tie is likely cut on the bias.
TIE LINING
The lining could be cut too small for the design of the tie and can cause it to pucker or curl at the edges. Test the lining by draping an unknotted tie in half over your hand. Watch that the narrow end of the tie falls to the middle of the wider end. This is a good indicator that the tie is falling straight and the lining is sized appropriately.
STRETCH THE TIE
Grab the necktie at both ends and give it a good tug. If the tie retains its shape and is not misshapen once you relax the ends, it’s a sign that the tie is well made and the fabric is of good quality.
LOOK FOR THREE PIECES
A good quality tie will have one piece for the back narrow end, one piece for the front wide and and one piece for the center neckband.
FABRIC
A fine quality tie is made from silk (not satin!) with the lining made from wool. Look for high wool content or 100% wool.
Keeping these tips in mind the next time you shop for a good quality men’s tie will help save yourself from spending too much money on a shoddy necktie priced as if it were a well made designer label tie.
